Food donations are not being accepted for the 2023 campaign.
Donations of toys (approximately $25 value) are accepted for kids aged 11 years & under. All toy donations can be dropped off at Sunrise Credit Union from November 14 to December 8 to the Christmas Cheer box located in the foyer.

Judged Contest
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
- You may submit your home or business by uploading a picture showing your decoration display to the veryvirdenchristmas.ca website.
- The contest closes on December 16th, 2022, at 11:59 pm.
- All picture uploads become the property of the Very Virden Christmas committee and can be used in print, social media, paid digital and website in future promotions.
- One submission per address.
- Winners will be chosen by vote hosted on the veryvirdenchristmas.ca website
- Prizes will be available for pick up at the Town of Virden office during regular business hours after the stated close date of the decorating contest.
- Contest winners have 30 days to pick up their prize(s).
- Prizes have no cash value. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged for any other items or cash.
- Any decisions made by the Very Virden Christmas volunteer committee will be final.
- The Town of Virden, Valleyview Co-op, Sunrise Credit Union, Very Virden Christmas suppliers, employees and families assume no responsibility for any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses the contestant may incur while taking part in or resulting from participation in this contest and/or redemption of any prize.
- Website Privacy & Data Use Policy. By participating in this contest, you acknowledge that your email may be used for marketing purposes, including providing users with newsletters and other advertising, to identify contest participants and promotions.
